Famous artists (Renoir, Monet, Cezanne, etc.), writers (Dumas, Cécartes, Pascal, etc.), and architects (Eiffel, Leo, Jules, etc.) were born here. France’s historical sites and famous landmarks are among the most popular worldwide. We especially want to highlight castles and monasteries.

Cuisine

French cuisine is well known for its exciting recipes. Look at these names; you have probably heard them before mayonnaise, croissant, baguette, and omelet (they all come from France). The French menu includes:

  • Meat;
  • Poultry;
  • Fish;
  • Seafood;
  • Fruits.

Cheese occupies a special place. There are over 200 cheese recipes (for example, Roquefort, Camembert). Creamy butter is used in many dishes. Olive is the preferred vegetable oil. France is also known for its recipes with frog legs and grape snails. Popular dishes are:

Local desserts such as croissants with different fillings, pancakes, meringue, profiteroles, crème brûlée are very famous. The drinks are excellent red wine, cognac, and champagne.

Usually, you will be offered an appetizer, the first course, the main course, the cheeses, and dessert.

I had come to the conclusion that I must really be French, only no one had ever informed me of this fact. I loved the people, the food, the lay of the land, the civilized atmosphere, and the generous pace of life.

The tourist season

There are two main seasons in France:

  • June
  • July
  • August
  • December / January

There are few travelers in the other months, and the accommodation and car rental costs are much lower. Look at the months related to the low season: February, March, April, and November, and the average season: May, September, and October, to visit famous places in France.

Beach holiday

From June to September.

There are many tourists on the beach in July and August. The Mediterranean’s shores in the south of France are more popular, and the water is warmer, but the heat is also more substantial. The water on the Atlantic coast is cool, but the temperatures are not as high. There are also powerful tides off the coast. On the island of Corsica from June to September. May and October may also be favorable on this island, but temperatures are already lower.
